Nadia Baz is a figurative artist. She was born in Moscow into a family of scientists. Her family history spans several generations and is connected to tragic events of the 20th century: the Armenian Genocide, the repressions of the Great Terror, and the Holocaust.

In 1998, she graduated from Moscow Pedagogical University and completed postgraduate studies in painting and art education. That same year, she founded a design education center, where she taught design and perspective.

Alongside teaching and her painting practice, she worked as an interior designer, developing projects for shops, apartments, and houses. Among her projects was an international project for the French lingerie brand Chantal Thomass: she designed and realized the brand’s second boutique; the first boutique was located on Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris.

Since the late 1990s, she has participated in Russian national art exhibitions and Art Moscow 2010. In 2024, she moved to Israel, where she continued her artistic practice and exhibition activity.

Nadia Baz works primarily in figurative oil painting. At the center of her painting is the human being and the world revealed through individual experience, gesture, posture, and the surrounding material environment.
